Look, look! We're Internet-Famous

Wired did a story about Bike Messengers. That's right, cutting edge technology magazine, Wired, did a story about old fashioned, Luddite prone bicycle riding us.

Other than incorrectly identifying me as the owner and founder of Samurai (we're a cooperative - with 4 principal partners, with 7 full time members), I think this article fairly portrays what we're doing and how we're doing it.

It's full of good photos, that even make sitting in our office look exciting and sexy. Mostly from my bald head.

Check out the article and photos here.

Thanks Bryan!

Short Films, Reality TV, Feature Length Films, and Delivering Packages

Faster! trailer from Marie Ullrich on Vimeo.

The look of frustration and disgust on this girl's face is almost there. There's not enough of the 1000 yard stare in there though.

Tonight, Thursday April 14th is the premiere of the first bike messenger reality show, "Triple Rush." We'll be over at the 2nd Chance, sitting around laughing at the rookies and our old friends on cable television.

Join us for beers, snide comments, and merciless criticism!

How Little Things Change

19th Century Western Union Boy photo by Alice Austen

The average age of bike messengers may have changed, but I think the working conditions have only gotten worse. Except if you're a co-op member and you own a partial stake in the company.

I may have to invest in a new wardrobe. These kids got more class in their little pipe than I got in my whole closet.

Here's a a great photo spread from The Bicycle Story

Thanks to our old friend Graham White for sharing.
